Tuan Pauwels
clinical psychologist
As a clinical psychologist, I focus entirely on psychological assessment. I work with adolescents and adults who are looking for greater insight into themselves and the difficulties they experience. In previous practices in Tielt-Winge, Mechelen and Strombeek-Bever, I gained experience working within multidisciplinary teams, where I carried out assessments for ADHD and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). What appeals to me most about this work is the search for answers: helping someone understand themselves better and, based on that understanding, offering practical guidance and tailored recommendations.
During my training, I realised that lifelong learning is one of the qualities that characterises a good clinical psychologist. This mindset strongly resonates with me and is a value I want to continue bringing into my work. Not only because I enjoy continuing to learn, but also because I believe it enables me to provide the best possible support.
For this reason, I completed additional training in the ADOS-2, an observational assessment tool that is commonly used in ASD assessment. In the future, I also want to continue expanding my knowledge and skills so that I can keep carrying out my work with care, expertise and attention.
You don’t need to know exactly what you want to say, or why you feel stuck. Sometimes there is simply that vague feeling: “Something doesn’t feel right, but I don’t know what.” In my work, I want to create space together with you to explore that, without judgement and at your own pace.
