psychological support for children

At Tula, children, adolescents and young adults can receive psychological support for a range of difficulties, including anxiety, panic, excessive worrying, self-esteem issues, perfectionism, fear of failure, OCD, selective mutism, self-harm and suicidal thoughts.

01

Intake session

We get to know each other and, together with the parent(s) and the child or young person, identify their strengths and difficulties and define a clear support request. Based on this, we propose an appropriate course of psychological support.

02

Psychological support

We work at your pace, focusing on your specific needs and concerns. For children and adolescents, each session consists of 45 minutes of individual support, followed by 15 minutes of feedback with the parent(s).

03

Ending the support

When you need less support, we gradually reduce the frequency of the sessions and bring the support process to a close together.

Frequently asked questions

Do I bring my child to the intake session?

Preferably, yes. This allows the child or young person to get to know us beforehand, which can make the transition to individual support easier. It also gives us the opportunity to discuss expectations together and to ensure from the start that everyone is on the same page.

Is this reimbursed bij my health insurance fund?

Several health insurance funds provide partial reimbursement for psychological support. The conditions and reimbursement amounts vary depending on the health insurance fund. View the overview here

Can I cancel sessions?

Appointments can be cancelled free of charge and without having to provide a reason up to 48 hours in advance. In case of a late cancellation or a no-show, the session will be charged.

Do both parents need to be informed?

For minors, both parents who exercise parental authority must be informed about the psychological support, and neither parent may object to it.
